Senator Richard “Dick” Gordon confirms that the extra-judicial killings cannot be linked to President Duterte, as the result of the senate probe on the issue. Gordon ends the series of senate probe since the self-confessed hit man Edgar Matobato is not a reliable source. He tried to fabricate stories against Duterte.
Apparently, Senator Leila De Lima used her position to be able to raise a senate probe to Duterte’s anti-drug campaign and consider it as extra-judicial killing.
Prior to that, Gordon reiterates that there are no clear links that Duterte ordered the killings, he said:
I don’t think it’s Duterte-inspired. The President is inspired to kill drugs because he really means to eradicate drugs but I don’t think he’s gonna push anybody to say and kill.
For all we know, whether Duterte is guilty or not, there was an effort. There’s obviously an antecedent.
Prior to that, Gordon recalls that De Lima tried to investigate Duterte way back in 2014, but it turns out that Duterte shall be the one to investigate the senator this time.
They have a conflict because De Lima tried to investigate him in 2014 and now it is her that the President is trying to catch.
As of now, Senator Richard Gordon plans to study the possibility to file a case against Edgar Matobato who testified nothing but lies.
