Argentina: Farmer discovers 10,000-year-old glyptodon fossil in Ezeiza


Argentine farmer, Antonio Nievas had an incredulous experience. He discovered a gigantic egg during one of his walks around his farm!



Almost a meter long, the black egg held a structure comparable to a rock. Nievas even thought it was a dinosaur egg the first time he saw it.


The incredible discovery instantly caught the interest of scientists, who quickly came towards the scene.

To everyone’s surprise and astonishment, contrary to what Nieves assumed, it was apparently a fossilized stay off the prehistoric animal, glyptodon.

A glyptodon holds similarities using the contemporary day armadillo. It’s a gigantic animal that typically grows as much as 3 meters length.
