PNP Chief Director General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa said during a press conference in Camp Crame on Monday that they are doing their best to protect the life of the Eastern Visayas Drug Lord Kerwin Espinosa.
When the press asked PNP Chief about Senator Leila De Lima’s advice to Kerwin, Dela Rosa answered “Buti pa siya[Sen. De Lima] at alam niya ang mangyayari kay Kerwin Kami we are trying very hard to secure him at siya pinepredict na niya na papatayin. E bakit naman ganun ang pag-iisip ng isang tao,””
He believes that if someone from PNP wants to kill Kerwin, it’s only a little number compared to the whole organization of cops who wants to secure the Eastern Visayan Drug Lord.
He was also surprised that Senator De Lima knows more about the future of Kerwin than him.
“Whole organization (PNP) 160,000 of us, kung may scalawag sa amin na gustong pumatay kay Kerwin maliit lang yan kumpara sa buong PNP.. Mabuti pa siya [De Lima] alam niyang mamamatay si Kerwin ako hindi ko alam. ” Dela Rosa said.
Yesterday, Senator De Lima gave an advice to Kerwin that his cooperation with the government’s investigation on illegal drugs would not ensure his safety.
“This is my advice to Kerwin. Don’t ever think that your ‘cooperation’ will spare you your life. Sooner or later this government is going to make sure you end up like your father. I make the same prediction for Jaybee Sebastian,” the senator said in a statement
Kerwin Espinosa is currently in the custody of PNP Chief Bato Dela Rosa and the drug lord requested to be placed under the Witness Protection Program to ensure his safety.
