Breaking: Comelec’s Andres Bautista visits Bongbong Marcos in Ilocos Norte

Beleaguered Commission on Elections (Comelec) Chair Andres “Andy” Bautista took another controversial move on Sunday when he was seen visiting former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., at the latter’s house in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte.

Bautista earlier accused the wife of Bongbong Marcos in protecting his wife, Patricia Bautista, but in sudden turn of event, it wasn’t clear why the poll chief visited Marcos amid the ongoing poll protest he filed against Vice President Leni Robredo.

One of Marcos’ aides who saw Bautista leaving the Marcos premises descri bed him as “having a peaceful face upon leaving the area with three of his colleagues

“Mukhang maganda ang pinag-usapan nila ni sir kasi mukhang payapa ang aura ni commissioner nong palabas na sila”, nan aide who refused to give his name told a local reporter Monday morning.

The aide also added that one of Bautista’s companions brought a laptop. The discussion took more than three hours according to the source.

Both Bautisa and Marcos refused to give comment about the detail of their meeting . A local Bombo Radyo station reporter speculates that Bautista may have give Marcos election-related details needed for his case against Robredo.

Bautista was urged to resign from his post by his commissioners on Thursday, but the poll chief said he needed more time to contemplate amid pending impeachment complaint against him.

“Pwede ring humingi siya ng apology kay Senator Marcos”, a radio commentator said.
