Report: Marcos One Step closer to Becoming Vice President after Bautista’s Visit

A senior Commission on Elections (Comelec) official who, along with poll chief Andres Bautista, visited former Senator Bongbong Marcos on Sunday, revealed that the chairman passed a “very big and important” information about the past elections to Marcos.


The poll executive who refused to reveal his name because she is not authorized to speak told Pinoy News on Tuesday.

“Chairman Bautista is ready to step down from his post as Comelec chairman, but he said he wants things sorted out before he leave as he don’t want to tarnish his legacy while being in office”, the source said.

She also added that the information given by Bautista to the former senator also serve as an apology over the past controversial elections, where Marcos has a pending electoral protest against the sitting Vice President Lenie Robredo.

“Bongbong could be one step closer to becoming a vice president if he use it wisely (referring to the information given by Bautista),” she added.

Bautista skipped a Liberal Party dinner on Sunday night to visit Marcos in his house in Laoag City on Sunday.

As of press time, neither Bautista nor Marcos give comment to the media about their secret meeting. /Jesus Mario Joseph/
